Naïssam Jalal has composed eight imaginary healing rituals in response to the violence of our world. These “Healing Rituals” provide shelter for suffering spirits and bodies through silence, trance and beauty. Although very contemporary, these rituals are in line with the healing rituals of the ancestral and often animistic traditions that inspired them.

« Despite the upheavals shaking the world today, Naïssam Jalal stays true to a path of gentleness. As a flutist, composer, and vocalist, she has, project after project, created music that reconnects with its instinctive power. Tirelessly. Healing Rituals may well represent a climax — a kind of quintessence of what the flutist seeks. Almost whispered, the music unfolds as a true ritual, inspired by traditional cultures and their practices to accompany life and heal its ills. The invisible, a central theme in Naïssam Jalal. » Sons d’hiver

The album is mentioned in the press as one of the best albums of 2023: The 10 best jazz albums by The Guardian, Honourable Mention by The New York City Jazz Records, Top of The World by Songlines, TOP 10 albums by MixedWorldMusic and Radio Nova. Naïssam Jalal was named one of the best flautists of the year by Jazz News, Jazz Magazine and El Intruso, and was nominated for the Victoires du Jazz 2023.
